Week 1

Suzi had a textbook whelping. She went into labour the evening before, and delivered Stella at 7:25 am, 3 hours after her waters broke. Both puppies were breech, but Suzi had no problems pushing them out, and both were breathing from the moment they popped out. Stella came first, she was a whopper weighing 8oz! The little dog, later to be called Jasper, was next and he was also big, weighing 6.4 oz. Suzi was a fantastic mum, as most Shelties are, and took straight away to the job of being a mummy.
